Who Is This Booklet For?

For beginner & seasoned stitchers alike

Have you purchased a beautiful embroidery pattern but are not too crazy about the colors used by the designer? Or are you just looking for a little bit of inspiration for your Christmas embroidery? This Booklet is a very useful guide in case you find it difficult/tedious to come up with thread color combinations that blend together well.

For pattern designers

These palettes can help you create beautiful and harmonious embroidery designs for the festive season. Just create your beautiful linework, and try out different color combinations from this selection to see which works best with your design. Or even better, sell multiple versions of a single pattern design, with different color palettes chosen from this Booklet.

For Christmas crafters & DIYers

Each palette page lists both HEX and RGB codes for each of the six colors used, making it easy for you to use them in various craft or design projects. If you own a digital coloring book, this Booklet will give you exactly 36 different variations on coloring each of those pages.

I love your colour palette booklet. I am an embroiderer keen to design my own projects and although I have a large stash of embroidery threads, sometimes matching colours to a picture or to find colours that go well together can be a bit hit or miss. Especially trying to match colours in the embroidery shop under artificial lights.

Anatomy of a Palette page

Each palette consists of six assorted colors that either complement or contrast each other. A palette page is divided into two sections: A Color Code Reference (1) and a Thread Code Reference (2).

The Color Code Reference section gives you the HEX and RGB codes of each individual color, so you can apply these during your digital coloring adventures and other Christmas craft projects.

The Thread Code Reference provides you with three key pieces of information:

  • The DMC six strand embroidery thread shade code (art.117) and image
  • The Anchor Stranded cotton thread shade code (art.4635000) and image
  • The DMC tapestry wool code (art.486) and image – for more bulky, Bargello type embroidery

I love your colour palette booklet. I am an embroiderer keen to design my own projects and although I have a large stash of embroidery threads, sometimes matching colours to a picture or to find colours that go well together can be a bit hit or miss. Especially trying to match colours in the embroidery shop under artificial lights.

With your colour palette booklet, I am able to go straight to the DMC number and know that I've got the colour to use.

As an embroiderer, I think the booklet will help plan colour schemes for my own embroidery designs, whether I am using DMC or Anchor stranded cottons, or DMC tapestry wool. It is great to be able to build a colour scheme that is close in tonality. Having both DMC and Anchor in the schemes is useful because sometimes you need to use one or the other.

Love it, it's going to be great for all projects I am doing for Christmas. Also what's nice: you have the dmc colors grouped, so all I have to do is take the numbers, locate the thread and I can wrap a sample of the colors and whether I go to yarn, paint material - I have the colors in my hand to pick the match closest to the original colors so all items, afghans, pictures and/or painted furniture, etc. will work together.

Thanks again!

I recently purchased the Christmas Palette Booklet. As a person who struggles with choosing colours for projects I really appreciate the effort that has been made to create this booklet! It makes choosing colours so much easier for this season.

My only wish is that I had discovered it earlier so I could have implemented it into this year’s Christmas stitching! I will be using it next year as I will feel more confident choosing colours for my students to use in the Christmas projects.

On a scale of one to ten this booklet is definitely a big TEN!

I love color palettes and this is a beautiful one.

I use it to choose the gel polish colors that I paint my charms with. Choosing the color palette was always the hard part because inevitably I'd end up choosing my own favorites over and over again- hello mint and gold :) This gives me a resource to mix things up a bit.

I have it printed out for easy browsing but when I choose a palette I use the digital version so I can zoom in and have a larger sample to compare my colors to.

I love my Christmas Palette booklette. I give it a +5. It’s perfect for me since I only get to see my EGA friends once a month.

Some of them have a real good eye for color and have helped me in the past. Now I have a security blanket/booklet by my stitchy chair all the time.

I love this catalogue! I'm a home stitcher and like to fiddle around with colours to get a palette I love, this will help me greatly in doing that! It's so comprehensive, with all the different kinds of colour charts (DMC, Anchor etc.) so this is useful for all kinds of stitchers. I'm considering getting some of the others, too!
